From the moment I could hold a brush, I've been painting. This had sometimes disastrous results when the piece would end up on the side of my dad's car or the living room walls. As I grew, I found more suitable canvases. I began my undergraduate degree at the University of North Texas in the fall of 2020. I knew I loved to draw and paint, but the idea of making a career of it had been portrayed as a dream, nothing more than a fantasy. I decided to trust my gut and change my major to Studio Art in my second year. This was the moment I made a commitment to taking myself and my artwork more seriously.
Since this day, I have graduated Summa Cum Laude with my BFA in Studio Art, completed 100+ hours of commission work, had a solo show, participated in numerous group shows, and assisted with a mural for Francisco Moreno. The next step in my journey was starting my own mural business, the origin of Syd Campbell Projects. I accepted my first mural contract in January of 2025, and am very excited for everything the future holds.
